Teacher Spotlight - Kendyl Acton, Kindergarten | Schedule a Tour!

Hello! My name is Kendyl Acton, and I am so excited to be part of the Kindergarten team here at Mesquite Elementary. I have been teaching for five years, and there is truly no place I’d rather be than in a Kindergarten classroom!

My favorite thing about teaching Kindergarten is getting to witness visible, life-changing growth. We start the year learning our routines, letters, and how to be independent. By the time the end of the year rolls around, these same students are reading words and sentences! As an educator, seeing that daily impact is incredibly rewarding.

Beyond the academics, I pride myself on building deep relationships with each of my students. I love being their "safe person" and creating an environment where they feel supported the moment they walk through our doors.

If I could share one piece of advice for parents, it would be to focus on progress, not perfection. Kindergarten is a huge adjustment, and we are here to support them every step of the way!

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my awesome family. We enjoy taking road trips and exploring new places together. I am also an avid reader and am always researching new and exciting ways to keep learning FUN for my students!
