The Battle of the Books Club is designed to get students excited about reading! Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 5 and 6.
Friendship Club is a socially enriching program that fosters acceptance and inclusion for all students. By becoming a Friendship Club member at Mesquite Elementary, students learn to build awareness and create opportunities in which friendships can grow in a safe and accepting environment. At each club meeting, students will engage with peers before school for 30 minutes of structured fun and peer interaction while continuing to learn, make, and maintain friendships.
Designed for all students, the Mesquite Movers Club offers a great chance for children to stay active, make friends, and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Whether your child is an expert sprinter or just starting to explore the joy of running, all students are welcome! All Running Club members will have weekly practices and the chance to participate in meets against other schools throughout the season.
The Oceanography Club is an extracurricular, enrichment program. The purpose is to provide students the opportunity to engage in lessons regarding the Earth’s oceans and sea creatures. Students who complete any assignments, have good attendance regarding club meetings, and show good character at school, may also participate in the trip to San Diego, CA. Club members travel to San Diego to visit an aquarium, Sea World, and study marine life aboard a floating lab.
Student Council is a group of dedicated young leaders committed to representing the student body and promoting positive change within the school community. Members of the Student Council are elected to positions such as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, allowing them to develop leadership skills. The club plans a variety of activities, including fundraisers, community service projects, and school events, all designed to boost school spirit, support student well-being, and advocate for student interests. By actively working with their peers and faculty, Student Council members serve as role models, fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and a sense of community among students.
