Summer Projects - Improvements to Playground Spaces for Mountain Lion Safety

Creating a learning environment where every student can thrive takes our entire community of teachers, administrators, staff, families, and students. At Mesquite Elementary, our mission is to provide an educational environment where all students achieve academic excellence, strong interpersonal skills, self-esteem, and physical growth and development.

With routine maintenance throughout the school year and projects over summer break, our district Operations team worked on improvements throughout our campus to maintain a safe, active, and supportive environment for everyone to succeed.

Over summer, renovations were completed across our playground areas to repair surface wear, smooth out uneven ground, and eliminate potential trip hazards, ensuring our outdoor spaces remain safe for daily recess, physical activity, and play.

"We rely on thorough assessments to stay ahead of facility needs and keep spaces safe and functional for students," says Chief Operations Officer Albert Dutchover. "When facilities are well cared for, students notice. It lets them know we care about their environment, and that translates directly into pride in their school."

Whether welcoming students through our doors each morning or supporting active physical growth at recess, these updates help ensure Mesquite Elementary remains a safe, well-cared-for place where our Mountain Lion Family can thrive.
